This collection was saved from massive wooden wine tanks across central California. These wine tanks were made entirely from old growth clear vertical grain Redwood with absolutely no knots. Some of these trees being in excess of 1000 years old! 

The tank staves turned a subtle gray hue with deep patina, and the band marks from the hoops that held the massive tanks together still show on the exterior planks. The tank staves are of the finest of clear wood available. Perhaps the most unique feature, the ancient wine has left exquisite coloring while still being able to catch the liquids delicate aroma. 

The interior planks cellular structure have collapsed from being submerged in wine for hundreds of years, leaving these old growth boards with density far greater than other Redwoods.
